A global manufacturer in the Birmingham area is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a days-based role. *Please note that very occasionally there will be a requirement to cover sickness or holidays from the shift Engineers, likely once every 3 months\n\nThe ideal candidate will be a hard-working and adaptable Engineer with a strong technical background within a fast-paced, heavy industry manufacturing environment. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will report to the Maintenance Team Leader and provide planned, preventative maintenance expertise along with responses to reactive breakdowns\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity with a multi- company who supply to a variety of industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, HVAC and more\n \n Role: Maintenance Engineer\n Location: Birmingham\n Salary: £45,000 - £48,000\nShift: Days (Occasional shift cover)\n \n The key responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role will be:\n\nServe as a primary point of contact for annealing maintenance activities, overseeing annealing processes, TPM initiatives, and contractor coordination to ensure smooth operations and optimal equipment availability.\nAdhere to and promote company Health, Safety & Environmental policies, completing relevant risk assessments and following all SOPs.\nDeliver hands-on mechanical and technical support for annealing equipment and assist with maintenance across other production lines.\nPerform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and TPM tasks, while responding promptly and effectively to equipment breakdowns.\nMonitor, assess, and interpret equipment performance data to support continuous improvement and enhance reliability.\nWork closely with production and engineering teams to plan and execute maintenance activities with minimal operational impact.\nLead, mentor, and support apprentices, contributing to their technical development and skill progression.\nManage spare parts availability and oversee on-site contractors, ensuring all work meets company standards and compliance requirements.\nProvide technical insight and support for engineering projects, equipment upgrades, and new machinery installations \nThe key requirements of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be:\n\nTime-served with relevant Mechanical Engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC; HNC desirable).\nMinimum 3 years’ experience in medium to heavy industrial maintenance.\nStrong knowledge of fluid power systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, and machine shop activities.\nAbility to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.\nExperience with annealing, induction furnaces, casting, or rolling equipment is highly desirable.\nExcellent communication, organisational skills.\nAble to work independently, within a team, and provide cover on 4 on / 4 off shifts when required. \nPlease apply online or contact (url removed) for a confidential conversation\n \nExecutive Network Group, encompassing Technical Network, Network HR, HSE Network & Procurement People, sourcing mid to senior level management for automotive, aerospace, engineering and manufacturing industrial sectors, with a portfolio of services including executive search, advertising, MRO for permanent and interim contract recruitment services
