About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This is a hands-on and safety-critical role ensuring the smooth, safe, and reliable operation of rides and attractions through a mix of planned and reactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct daily ride checks at the start of each shift to ensure operational safety and compliance
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on rides and equipment
Work on mechanical systems such as chains, drives, magnetic brakes, cables, hydraulics, and pneumatics
Diagnose faults and conduct fault finding to ensure minimal downtime
Ensure all work is carried out with strict adherence to health and safety protocols
Participate in and complete risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work documentation
Be comfortable working at height in a variety of weather conditions
Communicate effectively with the wider engineering and operations team to maintain ride availability
Ideal Candidate:
Background in mechanical engineering, ideally in a safety-critical or amusement park environment
Strong experience in fault finding, breakdown repair, and planned maintenance
Good knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Must be health and safety conscious with a working knowledge of risk assessments and safe systems of work
Comfortable and experienced with working at height
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic
Desirable:
Experience in amusement/theme park ride maintenance
Relevant mechanical or engineering qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
Working knowledge of LOLER, PUWER, and other relevant safety legislation
