Mechanical Integration Engineer

AtGlobal Laser Enrichment (GLE), we are redefining whats possible in uranium enrichment and nuclear technology. Were seeking a hands-on Mechanical Integration Engineer to design, assemble, install, and test first-of-a-kind mechanical systems that support our pioneering enrichment process.


In this role, youll work closely with engineering, operations, and facility maintenance teams to turn concepts into functioning systems, building, modifying, and optimizing mechanical components and equipment that power our innovation.

What Youll Do

  • Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, infrastructure, and prototypes.
  • Build, calibrate, and repair equipment used in R&D and facility operations.
  • Develop and refine design concepts, mechanical specifications, and test procedures.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and functional issues in systems and assemblies.
  • Perform testing, data collection, and analysis to validate mechanical performance.
  • Support quality control inspections, documentation, and reporting of test results.
  • Draft diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications for design and testing.
  • Conduct Helium leak checks to ensure system integrity.
  • Complete MIG/TIG welding and machining tasks using lathes, drills, or other tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to install, commission, and improve mechanical systems.


What Youll Bring

  • 2-year technical degree and 5+ years of hands-on mechanical experience.
  • Proven experience in equipment assembly, pipefitting/welding, millwright, or machine shop operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical design skills.
  • Knowledge of vacuum technology, pressure systems, and preventive maintenance.
  • Experience with lifting, rigging, and mechanical alignment techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DOE/NRC Q-Clearance (or active clearance ).


Qualifications

  • Experience in classified or highly regulated environments.
  • Background in prototype system integration and mechanical testing.
  • Familiarity with data recording, test analysis, and mechanical system documentation.
