We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to join a leading Aerospace Engineering Company in Poole, Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering, particularly within the aerospace or a similar industry. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards at every stage of production.
Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Inspector, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting dimensional and visual inspections of products at all required stages of manufacture, including 1st off, FAIR, final view, pre-treatments, and goods in/out.
- Raising purchase orders for sub-contract suppliers.
- Identifying and labeling non-conforming products, raising NCRs in accordance with procedures, and containing non-conforming parts.
- Communicating product non-conformity to quality engineers and production teams in a timely manner.
- Completing FAIRs in compliance with applicable procedures.
- Utilizing customer quality processes and software, such as Net Insp, as required.
- Attaining and complying with customer-approved inspection requirements (e.g., DSQR).
- Compiling and approving certificates of conformity.
- Attending and contributing to RCCA 8D meetings as needed.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:
- A proven track record in mechanical engineering.
- A high standard of engineering ability.
- Solid experience in the aerospace or a similar industry.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of process control in all aspects of quality.
Day-to-Day
Your day-to-day activities will involve:
- Inspecting products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborating with quality engineers and production teams to address and resolve non-conformities.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation, including certificates of conformity and FAIRs.
- Engaging with customer quality processes and attending relevant meetings to ensure alignment with client requirements.
Benefits
- Competitive hourly rate of £17.50, depending on experience and skills.
- Flexible working hours: Start at 7am or 8am and finish at 4pm or 5pm, Monday to Friday. Options to condense hours into fewer days are available.
