R&D Manco is a precision manufacturer of components and assemblies for the aerospace and defense industries. Manufacturing parts for crafts that range in purpose from the exploring the bottom of the ocean to venturing to the space station.

Seeking an experienced a Quality Inspector, familiar with mechanical inspection gages, use of surface plate with GD&T and CMM inspection experience .

Skills and aptitude necessary to be successful in the role include:

  • Thorough understanding of aerospace drawings, parts lists and associated documents
  • Basic familiarity with Windows based PCs and related applications
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic mathematical skills to the work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Perform 1st Article Inspection
  • Maintain FAI sheets ensuring they are up to current standard
  • Perform Final Inspection
  • Operate CMM (PC-DMIS program knowledge a plus but not required)
  • Inspect using surface plate (ability to layout part)
  • Properly use inspection tools
  • Prepare gauges (for floor and inspection)
  • Perform Hardness testing
  • Follow Work Instruction and Procedures
  • Accurately populate applicable forms (C of C, DIP, MOT, I&T, Tags, etc.)
  • Navigate customer portals
  • Keep a clean and safe area (continually 5S own area)
  • Willingness to Help others if needed
  • Follow department standards for quality
  • Consistently displays a sense of urgency in meeting deadlines and goals
  • Continually be inventive and resourceful to improve all processes (Shows willingness to try and fail)
  • Be flexible in job duties to meet the customer needs

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Two or more years of aerospace manufacturing experience- required
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college or trade school helpful
  • First Article Inspection (AS9102)
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • CMM inspection ability
