- Compensation: $37.39–$41.54 per hour

Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Hardware Engineer to design and develop rack-mounted networking products from concept through release to manufacturing. This hands-on role will support mechanical design, technical leadership, prototype validation, product documentation, regulatory testing, and cross-functional product development within a fast-paced engineering environment.
Responsibilities
- Design rack-mounted networking products from initial concept through release to manufacturing.
- Lead technical decisions and establish clear engineering direction for assigned projects.
- Conduct design reviews and support prototype builds, testing, and validation.
- Create and maintain bills of materials, engineering change orders, and technical specifications.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging cooling, interconnect, and mechanical technologies.
- Develop project scopes, resource plans, schedules, and technical deliverables.
- Identify technical dependencies and resolve cross-functional engineering issues.
- Support thermal design and advanced cooling solutions, including liquid cooling.
- Coordinate regulatory compliance testing for NEBS, EMI, EMC, safety, and other applicable requirements.
- Estimate and manage component costs, tooling expenses, project resources, and engineering budgets.
- Collaborate with internal departments, manufacturing partners, suppliers, and external engineering resources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- Five or more years of relevant electro-mechanical design experience.
- Experience designing networking, storage, or server hardware products.
- Current experience using a 3D solid-modeling platform.
- Experience conducting tolerance analysis for complex mechanical systems.
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and finite element analysis.
- Knowledge of sheet-metal design and manufacturing processes for low- and mid-volume production.
- Understanding of hard-tooling requirements for plastics, aluminum extrusions, and aluminum die-cast components.
- Strong understanding of thermal design and thermal profiling.
- Experience creating and maintaining product-development schedules and budgets.
- Excellent written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Working knowledge of EPDM.
- Experience with IDF and ECAD-to-MCAD transfer processes.
- Knowledge of advanced cooling technologies, including liquid cooling.
- Experience with NEBS, EMI, EMC, safety, and product-specific regulatory compliance requirements.
