Job DescriptionMechanical Fitter Rotating EquipmentWolverhamptonClient InformationOur client is a family-run engineering and manufacturing company with clients across a range of industries, including pharmaceutical, petrochemical, steel processing and automotive.Due to continued growth and success, they are looking to recruit skilled Mechanical Fitters with experience working on rotating equipment .The role offers an excellent balance of workshop and site-based work, with approximately 50% of your time spent in the workshop and 50% working on customer sites . All site work is within approximately 1 hour of Wolverhampton , meaning there is no requirement for extensive nationwide travel or staying away.As a Mechanical Fitter, your duties will include:Mechanical fitting, assembly and maintenance of rotating equipmentWorking on pumps, gearboxes, motors, shafts, bearings and associated componentsStrip-down, inspection, repair and rebuild of rotating machineryInterpreting engineering drawings and following technical specificationsCarrying out mechanical work both within the workshop and on customer sitesInstallation, alignment and commissioning of rotating equipmentDiagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairsWorking safely and efficiently to meet customer requirements and deadlinesMaintaining a high standard of workmanship and ensuring all work is completed correctlyThe ideal experience for this Mechanical Fitter position will be:Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter within an engineering or manufacturing environmentStrong experience working with rotating equipmentExperience stripping, rebuilding and maintaining pumps, gearboxes, motors or similar machineryConfident using a range of mechanical fitting and workshop toolsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawingsExperience with mechanical installation and alignment is desirableComfortable working both independently and as part of a teamWillingness to work both in the workshop and on customer sitesA strong understanding of mechanical engineering and safe working practicesInformation for this Mechanical Fitter position:Basic salary: £44,000Excellent overtime potential many current employees are earning £60,000£70,000+50/50 split between workshop and customer site workAll site work within approximately 1 hour of WolverhamptonSite working hours are determined by customer requirementsWorkshop hours: 7:00am 4:00pm Monday to ThursdayFriday: 7:00am 1:00pm31 days holidayOvertime paid at time and a half until Saturday middayOvertime after Saturday midday paid at double timeExcellent opportunity for additional earnings through overtimeTPBN1_UKTJ
