Assembler / Fitter - Electrical Control Boxes

Location: Birmingham (B18)
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Major Recruitment is currently recruiting for a skilled Assembler / Fitter to join a leading manufacturer based in Birmingham (B18). This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for someone with strong mechanical and basic electrical assembly experience, particularly with control boxes used in:

- Turnstiles
- Traffic barriers
- Security gates and fencing systems

\n
Role Responsibilities:
\n
- \n
- Assembly and fitting of electrical control boxes for security systems
- Reading and interpreting basic electrical and mechanical drawings
- Using hand-held tools such as screwdrivers, drills, crimpers, wire strippers, etc.
- Wiring and connecting components (switches, relays, connectors, terminals)
- Testing and inspecting completed assemblies for functionality and quality
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area

Candidate Requirements:

- Previous experience in mechanical/electrical assembly or fitting
- Confidence working with hand and power tools
- Ability to follow technical drawings and wiring diagrams
- A proactive and reliable approach to work
- Good communication and team-working skills

Desirable:

- \n
- Experience in assembling control panels or similar low-voltage electrical systems
- Understanding of basic electrical safety and wiring practices
- Background in manufacturing for the security or automation sector
