Mechanical Fitter



My client are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join their manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and refurbishing a variety of processing machinery, both new and used, as specified by mechanical designs, engineering drawings, and best manufacturing practices.



Key Responsibilities

Assemble new machinery and equipment according to engineering drawings, instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Disassemble, clean, refurbish, and reassemble hire and used equipment as required.

Manufacture and modify components when necessary, including “make-on-assembly” fabrication.

Operate appropriate hand and power tools in the safe and efficient execution of assembly tasks.

Perform basic welding, polishing, and finishing work where qualified and competent.



*



Follow written and verbal manufacturing instructions and complete required documentation.



Skills & Experience



*



Apprenticeship-trained or formally educated in mechanical engineering ().



*



Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience assembling mechanical machinery and equipment.



*



Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.



Salary: Up to £34,476
