An established mechanical contractor serving Southern California is actively seeking a detail-oriented HVAC Estimator to support ongoing growth across government and private-sector projects. This position is ideal for a self-motivated individual with a strong understanding of HVAC estimating and a passion for solving mechanical challenges through efficient, code-compliant, and cost-effective solutions.
The role involves full-cycle estimating from job walks to final proposal—providing critical support for design-build and commercial projects valued from $500K to $10M.
Key Responsibilities

Attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and site assessments to accurately capture project scope

Analyze project requirements and identify innovative, cost-effective solutions

Conduct thorough plan/spec reviews and material takeoffs

Source, evaluate, and confirm vendor/subcontractor pricing

Develop and submit professional proposals tailored to each client’s needs

Estimate design-build, commercial projects for mechanical scopes

Utilize estimating tools such like Excel
What You’ll Work With

Close collaboration with operations and field teams to ensure estimate alignment

Traits & Experience
-
2+ years of HVAC estimating experience (commercial and design-build is but not required)

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, construction materials, and code requirements

Proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel, and estimating software

Ability to independently estimate mechanical systems from concept through final proposal

Strong organizational and communication skills
