Job Description

At Dornan we are currently recruiting for a  Mechanical Estimator to join an existing estimating team based out of head office in West London.\n\nReporting to Estimating Lead , working alongside the commercial and construction team to provide    estimations and advice.\n\nAs a commercial member of the team, the Estimator will be an exemplar ambassador for the company and its values; integrity, dependability, safety, pride, quality.\n\nYour day to day will include:\n\nTo prepare and collate tenders and source pre-project information by a given deadline.\n\nTo provide fast, accurate, competitive and profitable estimates from enquires stage to bid submission\n\nTo follow up on submitted tenders\n\nTo analyse sub-contractor / vendor quotations and checking inclusions and exclusions\n\nTo deal with clients at post tender meetings and conduct presentations\n\nProvide support and assistance to the Estimating team\n\nAttend tender and follow up meetings when required\n\nAll other reasonable tasks assigned to you from time to time from your manager\n\nWhat we are looking for:\n\nDetailed knowledge of the Estimating role\n\nCommercial understanding\n\nBrief understanding of the Engineering systems\n\nKnowledge of the teams strengths and weaknesse\n\nAbility to prioritise workload\n\nRecognises own strengths and weaknesses and committed to ongoing development\n\nRoles and responsibilities:\n\nTo prepare and collate tenders and source pre-project information by a given deadline.\n\nTo provide fast, accurate, competitive and profitable estimates from enquires stage to bid submission\n\nTo follow up on submitted tenders\n\nTo analyse sub-contractor / vendor quotations and checking inclusions and exclusions\n\nTo deal with clients at post tender meetings and conduct presentations\n\nProvide support and assistance to the Estimating team\n\nAttend tender and follow up meetings when required\n\nAll other reasonable tasks assigned to you from time to time from your manager\n\nWhy Dornan?\n\nOur commitment to our employees development - we offer career progression pathways, always seeking opportunities to promote and upskill our people.\n\nHealth & Wellbeing - Fostering health and wellbeing is paramount to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment.
