Mechanical Estimator

Overview



We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Estimator on behalf of a well-established building services company.



Established over 35 years, they specialise in the design, installation, servicing and maintenance of HVAC systems. They have a team of over 50 staff members, including 35 engineers.



They work in a range of sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Residential, Education and Healthcare. They have excellent clients including 2 local authority frameworks.



The average length of service between the current team is over 10 years. They like to promote from within and provide excellent training opportunities. It is a great time to join this growing business.



This is a permanent position working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The salary is paying £50k - £60k per annum depending on experience. Perks include Company Car or Car Allowance + Pension + 21 days annual leave plus bank holidays. There are regular salary reviews based on merit and a clear line for progression. Candidates can either be based at the Yeovil or Shaftesbury office.



Responsibilities



* Commercial projects ranging from £50k - £2Million mechanically.



* All aspects of Tender Documentation and Preparation including; reading drawings and specifications.



* Assess key supply chain in line with strict tender requirement.



* Ensuring estimating procedures are followed and inputting data into the estimation software programme.



* Advise key information to the Pre-construction Manager & the Directors for tender evaluation.



* Generating a list of Sub-contractors & Suppliers for enquiries to be sent out to and carry out the whole tender process while following company procedures.



Skills & Attributes



* You will previously have worked in a building services consultancy or contractor as a Junior Mechanical Estimator, Mechanical Design Estimator, Mechanical Estimator, M&E Estimator or Building Services Estimator, Trainee Mechanical Estimator.



* Knowledge of programmes such as Trimble, Excel, Outlook, Word and a general understanding of I.T.



* Preferably, come from a degree background in Estimating/Quantity Surveying; however, we will also consider candidates who have progressed within a company to gain their estimating experience.



* Show understanding and have the ability to apply themselves working under pressure to meet deadlines.



* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.



* An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.



* Full UK Driving License.
