Mechanical Engineering Technician - OCU in Columbus
Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technician to perform engine, component, system, and controls testing in a hands-on test-cell environment. This role works closely with engineers to set up and execute tests, troubleshoot equipment, collect and analyze data, and ensure accurate and reliable test results.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform performance and reliability testing on engines, components, systems, and controls.
- Build, install, tear down, inspect, and prepare engines and components for testing.
- Install and configure test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
- Operate test stands and analyze test data for accuracy and quality.
- Troubleshoot engines, components, controls, test stands, and test-cell equipment.
- Configure engine test programs and make adjustments based on test results.
- Perform test stand setup, maintenance, and preventative maintenance.
- Fabricate basic piping, tubing, brackets, and other test equipment as needed.
- Develop and execute test plans and prepare technical test reports.
- Use diagnostic and test tools such as Calterm, Asset, Cyflex, and related systems.
- Work closely with engineers, technicians, suppliers, and internal customers to resolve issues and improve testing processes.
- Support continuous improvement, quality, 5S, safety, and audit activities.
- Maintain accurate test documentation and communicate results effectively.

REQUIRED:
\n

- 2-year Associate degree or 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar related field.
- Hands-on mechanical, testing, manufacturing, or engineering experience is .
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, prints, and test procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and data quality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
