Mechanical Engineer in Warrington, Cheshire

Responsibilities:
Perform planned and reactive maintenance on plant equipment to ensure smooth operation.
Diagnose faults and prioritise tasks to minimise downtime.
Maintain and optimise pumps, valves, compressed air systems, and chemical blending processes.
Support engineering projects including installations, commissioning, and relocations.
Carry out mechanical fitting, pipework, and pump maintenance tasks.
Interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and record activities in the CMMS system.
Key Skills & Experience:
Time-served apprenticeship or strong hands-on experience, ideally in chemical or food manufacturing.
NVQ/C&G mechanical qualifications (Tig Welding) (HNC/HND desirable).
Mechanical fitting skills (welding, pipework, valves, pumps).
COMAH experience and knowledge of chemical/stainless-steel fabrication desirable.
Ability to read technical drawings and work safely to standards
