Mechanical Engineer – Test Facilities\nPeterborough\nInitial 6 month contract – rolling contract/likely to extend for the right person!\n37 hours a week: Mon – Thurs 8.30am – 4.45pm, Friday 8.30am – 4.15pm\nUp to £28.25 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £38.50 - depending on experience\nA unique and interesting vacancy that will contribute to the successful design and implementation of development facilities. The work involves solving complex mechanical issues across the facility with specific focus on services and safety systems for the test cell environment.\nAlso involving leadership and execution of projects and the successful applicant will become a key member of the Test Facilities Engineering team, with opportunities to work on the creation and deployment of these new systems.\nKey Responsibilities:\n * Evaluation, selection, and deployment of powertrain test cell technologies.\n * Design and development of mechanical systems and subsequent services to support.\n * Collation and distribution of findings in technical reports.\n * Design modifications to facility plant, test rigs and equipment.\n * Develop, document, and maintain processes.\n * Complex fault finding.\nSkills and Experiences Required:\n * An Engineering / Technical Degree or be qualified through relevant work experience.\n * Experience of working in an engine, powertrain, or EV test cell environment or with relevant mechanical and safety systems.\n * Excellent attention to detail and a focus on quality.\n * Emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks with the capacity for continuous learning.\n * Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to provide concise insights, conclusions and recommendations drawn from complex technical data.\nTo apply, please submit a copy of your up-to-date CV clearly indicating your relevant experience.
