Mechanical Engineer - Senior Level

Job Responsibilities/Duties:


  • Identify, evaluate, and test unique design solutions for projects involved in: nuclear and hazardous waste remediation; chemical processing;nuclear ventilation, HVAC

  • Conduct design analysisto established codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, ASME B&PV, ASME AG-1,etc.)

  • Ability to work safely in office and shop environments and have a safety focus in all aspects of assigned roles

  • Provide support to multiple simultaneous projects and project teams

  • Work with designers to produce detail design drawings

  • Generate test plans/procedures and support system testing

  • Maintenance of configuration and control of baseline drawings and documents

  • Ability to effectively communicate task status, progress, technical issues, and meet project deadlines

  • Review projects and ensure compliance with basic design


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor Degree or higherfrom an ABET accredited university

  • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in mechanical engineering design to industry standards

  • Demonstratedexperienceinpreparing design deliverables, resolving technical review comments, and finalizing designdeliverables

  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment

  • Self-starter with the ability to focus on project needsand delivery schedules

Qualifications


  • PELicense


  • DOE experience


  • Experience at a nuclear facility or Navy Nuclear power


  • Willingness to take on new challenges and learn new skills while contributing to project teams

Working Conditions:

This position is performed in anoffice environment with occasional visits to the companys Fabrication Shop for testing and guidance to the Shop staff.
