Full‑time | Permanent | Rotating Days/Afternoons + On‑Call
Salary: £41,000–£46,000
Company: Our client (part of a Group supporting the circular economy)

About the Role

We’re recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a modern, fast‑paced manufacturing site in Runcorn. You’ll ensure machinery operates safely, reliably, and efficiently by carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, fault‑finding, and supporting continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

    \n
  • Perform PPM on mechanical equipment and systems
  • \n

  • Respond to breakdowns and complete reactive repairs
  • \n

  • Diagnose faults using root cause analysis
  • \n

  • Strip, inspect, repair and rebuild motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors
  • \n

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
  • \n

  • Maintain accurate maintenance and downtime records
  • \n

  • Support reliability and improvement projects
  • \n

  • Adhere to all health & safety procedures and isolation protocols
  • \n


What We’re Looking For

Qualifications (one of):

    \n
  • Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
  • \n

  • Level 3 Mechanical Engineering (NVQ/BTEC/City & Guilds/HNC/HND)
  • \n

  • Equivalent experience
  • \n

  • IOSH (desirable)
  • \n

Experience & Skills

    \n
  • Mechanical Engineer/Maintenance Technician background
  • \n

  • Experience in manufacturing or similar fast‑paced environments
  • \n

  • Strong hands‑on mechanical and fault‑finding abilities
  • \n

  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • \n

  • Experience with rotating machinery
  • \n

  • Skilled with workshop tools and equipment
  • \n

  • Strong problem‑solving skills
  • \n

  • Able to work independently and within a team
  • \n
