About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer (Rigging) to oversee and support lifting and rigging operations within the maintenance division. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in rigging engineering, lifting equipment management, and safety compliance within the oil & gas or heavy industrial sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate rigging and lifting operations, ensuring all activities comply with safety standards and company procedures.

• Review and approve lifting plans, equipment certifications, and engineering static lifting calculations.

• Inspect lifting and rigging equipment, ensuring fitness for use and compliance with specifications.

• Support reliability improvement initiatives by completing assigned action items and recommendations in a timely manner.

• Participate in internal and external audits, addressing findings and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

• Inspect and verify incoming materials and spare parts against technical drawings, manuals, and OEM documentation.

• Conduct Toolbox Talks, safety meetings, and on-site safety audits to maintain a proactive safety culture.

• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement preventive measures.

• Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and incident documentation.

• Provide coaching and mentoring to junior technicians and support Qatarization and skill development initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (required).

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in rigging and lifting engineering, including advanced static lifting calculations.

• Preferably 8 years or more in the oil & gas or heavy industrial sector.

Certifications & Skills:

• Certified Rigger Level II or equivalent qualification.

• Rigging Supervisor or Professional Rigger training (essential).

• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.

• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

• Excellent understanding of HSE practices, risk management, and lifting regulations.

Languages:

• English – Proficient (required).

• Arabic – Working knowledge (advantageous).
