Mechanical Engineer – Pumping Systems\n\nHampshire Area\n£50,000 – £60,000\n37.5 Hours per Week\nOffice Based | Quiet Working Environment\n\nWe are working on behalf of an engineering business seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong knowledge of pump systems to join their specialist technical team.\n\nThis is a highly varied and technically focused role where you will support the full engineering lifecycle — from technical proposals and concept development through to testing and customer support. The successful candidate will act as a key technical point of contact on customer and supplier meetings, so the ability to confidently explain engineering concepts and communicate professionally is essential.\n\nThis role would suit somebody from a pump manufacturing, pump systems, fluid handling, or specialist engineering solutions background who enjoys combining technical engineering with customer-facing communication.\n\nThe position will involve overseeing engineering activities and supporting junior engineers where required, although this is not a direct line management role.\n\nThe Role\n\nSupporting engineering projects from concept through to testing and delivery\nPreparing technical proposals and engineering documentation\nWorking with fluid systems, pumps, piping systems, and associated equipment\nSupporting customers and suppliers on technical calls and discussions\nProviding technical guidance across engineering activities\nCollaborating with suppliers and sourcing specialist components\nAssisting with technical problem solving and system improvements\nSupporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and project delivery\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\nDegree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar\nPrevious experience within pump manufacturing, pump distribution/reselling, fluid systems, or process engineering\nStrong understanding of pumps, fluid flow, piping systems, and associated mechanical equipment\nComfortable speaking with customers and explaining technical concepts clearly\nStrong commercial awareness and practical engineering mindset\nAble to think independently and work methodically\nDesirable experience includes:\n\nCAD or 3D modelling software\nCFD or FEA analysis tools\nKnowledge of spraying systems, nozzles, or mixing systems\nThis is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and highly specialised engineering business offering interesting technical work within a calm and professional office environment
