We currently have an opening in our Middletown, CT office for a Mechanical Engineer/PFP.

Responsible for the design and layout of plumbing and fire protection systems.

Essential Functions

· Designs plumbing and fire protection portions of a project using engineering formulas and skills for ensuring safety and technical accuracy.

· Reviews design project for code compliance.

· Identifies and selects equipment from appropriate manufacturing catalogs for specific applications.

· Ability to perform on-site investigations and surveys prior to design and during construction.

· Coordinates the contract documents between engineering disciplines for architects.

· Provides technical support to contractors throughout construction.

· Performs his or her own drafting/design using AutoCAD and/or Revit and reviews own work for accuracy.

· Performs hydraulic calculations using computer software.

· Coordinates utility requirements with local utility companies including obtaining hydrant flow test data for project sites.

Requirements:

Qualifications

· B.S. degree in mechanical engineering with 2 to 5 years of job-related experience.

· Ability to draft using AutoCAD and Revit software.

· Strong oral and written skills.

· Must be able to handle multiple tasks effectively...
