Mechanical EngineerLocation: PeterboroughContract: 6 Months (Potential Extension)Rate: Up to £38.49 per hour / £307.92 per day (Umbrella)Working Pattern: Full-Time, OnsiteWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering and product development environment, supporting engine and powertrain testing programmes within a state-of-the-art test facility.This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to work on bespoke test rigs, facility upgrades, fault finding, and new product development projects across a wide range of testing applications.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop mechanical systems, test rigs, and facility equipmentSupport engine and powertrain testing programmesDeliver small to medium-sized engineering projectsTroubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement solutionsProduce technical reports and engineering documentationWork closely with multidisciplinary engineering teamsEssential SkillsStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsExperience within test facilities, test cells, validation, or development environmentsMechanical engineering background with project delivery experienceExcellent communication and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred Industry ExperienceAutomotiveEngine or Powertrain TestingEV / Battery TestingAerospaceRailQualificationsMechanical Engineering degree preferredRelevant industry experience will also be consideredWorking Hours:Monday-Thursday: 8:30am-4:45pmFriday: 8:30am-4:15pmOne-stage, face-to-face interview process including a facility tour.TPBN1_UKTJ
