Role: Mechanical Engineer – Test Facilities\nLocation: Peterborough\n Duration: 6-month contract (highly likely to extend)\n Rate: £38.50/hour Umbrella (Inside IR35) or £28.50/hour PAYE\n Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:30am to 4:45pm. Friday: 8:30am to 4:15pm\nGlobal Automotive company looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their Test & Development team supporting product development, validation and testing programmes.\nWorking across a large-scale engineering facility, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving test infrastructure, delivering engineering projects, and solving complex mechanical challenges.\nThis is a hands-on role offering exposure to mechanical systems, cooling systems, bespoke test rigs and future facility upgrades. You will work closely with engineers, technicians and third-party suppliers to ensure testing operations continue safely and efficiently.\n \nRequirements:\n\nProven experience within a test facility, development, validation or manufacturing environment.\nStrong fault-finding and mechanical problem-solving capability.\nExperience delivering small to medium-sized engineering projects.\nDesign and development of mechanical systems, test rigs and supporting infrastructure.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.\nEngineering Degree , although significant relevant industry experience will also be considered
