HiFye is hiring multiple Mechanical Engineers (Nuclear Facilities Engineer Level 3 OR 4)

Nuclear Facilities Engineer (Level 3 / Level 4)

Salary:

  • Level 3: $125K – $210K
  • Level 4: $140K – $245K

Benefits: Full package + Full Relocation

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain required clearance

This role may be filled at either the Nuclear Facilities Engineer 3 or 4 level, depending on experience.

Support a critical security mission by providing nuclear facility engineering for Hazard Category nuclear facilities. This role applies DOE Orders, nuclear safety requirements, and codes to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable facility systems. Engineers work across system, design, project, and safety functions in close coordination with operations, maintenance, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform system, design, and project engineering for nuclear facilities
  • Support facility safety systems, operations equipment, and acceptance testing
  • Apply DOE Orders, nuclear safety requirements, and consensus codes
  • Develop engineering analyses, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and project management teams
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering processes

Level 4 Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical efforts and mentor engineers
  • Provide design authority and peer review
  • Deliver integrated, multi-discipline engineering solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited)
  • Level 3: 6+ years relevant experience
  • Level 4: 12+ years relevant experience
  • Experience with facility-related systems (HVAC, compressed air, power systems, or similar)
  • Experience applying codes and standards in regulated environments
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DOE or non-reactor nuclear facilities
  • Experience with safety basis, critical systems, or Vital Safety Systems
  • Advanced engineering degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience working under NQA-1 or similar quality programs
