An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to join a leading facilities management and building services organisation supporting a prestigious client site in Milton Keynes.
\n
This role is ideal for an experienced engineer looking to work within a professional, fast-paced environment where service excellence, technical expertise and continuous improvement are highly valued.

You will play a key role in delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and engineering support across a modern commercial facility, ensuring critical building systems remain operational, compliant and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
\n

- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical building services systems.
- Ensure the effective operation, maintenance and repair of M&E plant, equipment and associated building fabric.
- Complete maintenance activities in line with statutory requirements, industry best practice and maintenance schedules.
- Utilise CAFM systems to manage work allocation, maintenance records and performance monitoring.
- Support compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality management procedures.
- Supervise specialist contractors, including inductions, permits and completion of works.
- Review and support Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies.
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and customers to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Participate in technical training, toolbox talks and team meetings.
- Provide support for out-of-hours operational issues when required.

About You
\n
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused engineer who can work independently whilst contributing positively to a collaborative engineering team.

Essential Requirements
\n
- \n
- City & Guilds Level 3 (or equivalent) in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- A minimum of two years' experience within facilities management, building services or a maintenance engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services systems.
- Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance in commercial environments.
- Knowledge of HVAC and air conditioning systems.
- Understanding of water treatment systems, generators, fire alarm systems and associated building services.
- Familiarity with lifts and critical infrastructure, including UPS systems and communications rooms.
- Ability to interrogate and operate Building Management Systems (BMS).
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-facing approach.
