Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong Design for Manufacturing (DFM) experience to join our team in Lubbock, TX. This role will support the Manufacturing Engineering team and collaborate closely with R&D staff to improve processes, design fixtures, and enhance product assembly tools. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, proactive individual contributor with a proven track record in manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide design engineering support for manufacturing operations in Lubbock.

· Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to improve fixtures, tools, and assembly processes.

· Participate in process improvement initiatives and assist with administrative tasks related to design engineering.

· Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to optimize product designs for efficient production.

· Develop and refine fixture designs to support assembly operations.

· Work onsite to ensure timely communication and effective collaboration with local teams.

· Occasionally travel to Cranston, RI (quarterly) for meetings and training; initial 2-week visit to learn products and processes.

· Engage with R&D staff to address design questions and support product development.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

· 10+ years of design support experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Pro-E, Inventor).

· Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing principles.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

· Ability to work independently and take initiative (go-getter attitude).

· Willingness to travel occasionally.
