Mechanical Engineer
Location: Kettering
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 DOE
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm
Contract: Permanent
The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join a growing engineering team based in Kettering. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical designers, and control engineers on the build and assembly of advanced robotic automation and machinery systems.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong mechanical assembly experience and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical assembly of systems and machinery from engineering drawings
Assembly of components and sub-assemblies to a high standard of quality
Drilling and tapping holes as required during machinery build
Working from detailed mechanical assembly drawings
Collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
Supporting continuous improvement in build quality and efficiency
Ensuring safe working practices at all timesEssential Skills & Experience
Apprentice-trained or holding a recognised mechanical qualification
Proven experience in mechanical assembly/engineering environments
Proficient with hand tools and workshop equipment
Experience assembling fabrications including drilling and tapping
Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving ability
High attention to detail
Good communication and teamwork skillsDesirable Skills
Experience with milling machines or other workshop machinery
Experience within automation, robotics, or special-purpose machinery environmentsBenefits
