Our Mechanical engineers research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and deliver complex mechanical structures and systems and your technical duties include the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.
Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements: Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps. Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity. Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs.
Working Conditions: Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials. Rarely exposed to loud noises
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will act as a technical focal for all aspects of aircraft Electrical Wiring and Interconnection Systems (EWIS) design and development:
- Creation harness assembly routings and installations
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to resolve system interferences
- Provide guidance on design tool development and enhancements
- EWIS component selection
- Provide guidance and mentor to more junior engineers and designers on the team
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
•Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
•Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education - Significant experience with 3D harness routing and installation design CAD tools (e.g. CATIA, SolidWorks, NX)
- Significant experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools (e.g. 3DExperience, Enovia SmarTeam, Teamcenter)
- Familiar with Model Based Design (MBD) principles
- Ability to effectively communicate EWIS system requirements to other engineering disciplines
- Working knowledge of environmental electromagnetic effects and electromagnetic compatibility principles, as well as methods of protection and mitigation of those effects on EWIS.
- Familiar with system safety principles and hazard mitigation methods
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with Dassault Systems 3DExperince, Catia V5 or V6
- Experience with Catia Electrical Workbench
Education:
Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
