Job Description

Develop cost-effective, efficient, and high-quality process build instructions for mechanical & electrical assemblies. Interface with pre-production and production cross-functional teams to ensure developed processes, tools and equipment produce a production-ready product.

 

This is an onsite position; you must reside in Oklahoma. 

 

Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Process Development Engineer: 

Pay commensurate with experience.

Process Development Engineer Responsibilities Include: 

  • Develop Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPI).

  • Create manufacturing routers and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in an ERP & MES system.

  • Ensures technical drawings, specifications, work instructions and test processes meet customer & company requirements.

  • Interacts with customers to obtain and provide technical information.

  • Create reports and status project updates.

  • Create labor standard hours/Time-Standards.

  • Interpret engineering and technical information.

  • Creates and maintains new design data.

  • Supports the implementation/evolution of Digital Product Design (DPD) and Model-Based Definition (MBD).

  • Supports the Engineering & Manufacturing technology roadmap.

  • Research and review specifications for Request for Quote (RFQs).

  • Performs tooling reviews and capability analysis.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Process Development Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar) is required

  • 1+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • : Knowledge of aerospace specifications and common industry practices both in commercial and military aerospace sectors.

  • Advanced knowledge, skills and understanding of the principles and practice of engineering.

  • Able to identify and resolve pre-production issues.

  • Experience with 3D CAD software to interpret model-based definitions and digital product designs. SolidWorks or CATIA experience .

  • General mechanical assembly analysis, testing and qualification experience.

  • Mechanical assembly component selection and qualification experience.

  • Capability to solve complex design problems with minimal supervision.

  • Strong ability to work with teams, with a proven ability to effectively interact and collaborate. 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) 

  • Nice to have: Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.

  • Excellent written and communication skills.

  • Strong sense of personal accountability and drive to succeed.

  • Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Must pass the pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
