Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (EIT)
Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer (EIT) with 3–5 years of experience to join our growing engineering team in Houston. This role will focus on the design and coordination of mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with HVAC system design, construction documentation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and layout of HVAC systems, including air distribution, hydronic systems, and ventilation.
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and calculations for mechanical systems.
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations and equipment selections.
- Support senior engineers and project managers through all phases of design, from concept through construction administration.
- Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, plumbing designers, and other disciplines.
- Utilize AutoCAD and/or Revit for mechanical system layouts and documentation.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and assist with field observations during construction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain shortly.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within MEP consulting.
- Experience with HVAC load calculations and equipment selection.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes including ASHRAE, IMC, and local building codes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
