You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow, shaping a safer future, for all of us.\n\nFrom the depths of the ocean, to the far reaches of space, there’s no limit to where a career at BAE Systems could take you.\n\nRole description:\n\nAs a Mechanical Engineer, you will deliver key WTA (Warship Technical Authority) service elements across platform systems, including design change, technical assurance, material state and obsolescence management, specialist engineering support, and future support or transformation planning.\n\nCore duties:\n\nProviding mechanical engineering support across diverse platform systems, equipment, and critical marine services\n\nDelivering engineering input to multiple projects, including CSM platforms and international naval programmes\n\nWorking with internal teams and external stakeholders to clarify and manage platform system requirements\n\nMaintaining systems design integrity across varied engineering contexts, classes, and programme deployments\n\nSupporting investigations, impact assessments and integration analyses to enable evidence-based technical decisions\n\nEnsuring safe, efficient implementation of design changes while maintaining configuration control and system integration\n\nEssential skills:\n\nYou hold broad knowledge of complex platform systems across UK and international markets\n\nYou will have a good understanding of applicable industry standards and the ability to operate effectively within CSM, LCM, and other governance and assurance frameworks\n\nYou will have the ability to apply mechanical engineering knowledge quickly and confidently to a wide range of platform and projects across multiple platform systems and sub-systems and equipment’s\n\nYou will have evidence of formal mechanical engineering qualifications\n\nThe Asset Management team:\n\nThis role sits within the Warship Technical Authority (WTA) Service Hub, part of the Asset Management team within Warship Support, delivering whole ship, systems and equipment engineering expertise and change management to ensure safe, assured and high-quality support across Warship Support programmes.
