A leading commercial explosive manufacturer in the UK is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team, based on-site at their production facility in Alfreton, Derbyshire. This role offers the chance to be an integral part of a team responsible for the mechanical upkeep and optimisation of a high-hazard production plant.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer:



Carrying out maintenance, compliance checks, and improvement work on a wide range of mechanical plant and associated systems, specifically within a live production environment.

Focusing on proactive plant maintenance to reduce downtime and minimise reactive maintenance.

Working on industrial pumps and other critical mechanical systems across the production facility.

Ensuring all mechanical equipment meets industry and company standards, especially within a COMAH-regulated environment. What You’ll Need to Succeed:



Proven experience in a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Fitter role, ideally within a production or manufacturing environment.

Experience working on pumps and modern mechanical machinery.

Time-served qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.

Solid understanding of general plant and machine maintenance principles. Desirable Skills:



Prior experience working on a COMAH site. What’s on Offer:
