World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer – Certification & Validation subcontractor on an initial 6 month contract.\n\nRate: £50.00 per hour\nLocation: Stevenage \nHybrid / Remote working: 2 days a week onsite, the rest working remotely from home.\nContract: 37 Hours per week\nOvertime: Hours worked over 37 hours per week will be calculated at ‘time and a quarter’\nDuration: 6 Months (initially and then ongoing and long-term thereafter)\nIR35 status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)\n\nMechanical Engineer – Certification & Validation Job Description:\n\nAn opportunity to become part of Europe’s No. 1 Missile Systems Designer, as a Mechanical Design Engineer. You will work closely with other functional teams, to develop products to meet our customer’s needs.
Within this role you will have the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to work on the certification and validation activities to allow a new product to be delivered into service with international customers.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nSupport the Mechanical Certification Lead Engineer on generating evidence statements against Mechanical Requirements.\nInterpreting Test reports from subsystem, inert and live munition testing\nInterfacing with the Systems team, Architecture team, test team and others to gather the evidence required.\nPlanning and reporting on own day-to-day activities to meet project milestones. \nSkillset/experience required:\n\nRequired:\nExperience writing concise evidence statements against technical requirements\nExperience generating reports from testing or modelling work\nExperience working with diverse stakeholders\nExperience viewing models in 3D design tool (ideally Creo)\nExperience working within or closely with a Mechanical design team\n\nPreferred:\nExperience working with diverse stakeholders\nExperience with DOORS\nDefence or Aerospace experience\nExperience working to Defence Standards\nEnvironmental testing experience\nUnderstanding of CADMID product life cycle\nAn appreciation of other engineering areas/domains.\nExperience using Windchill and interrogating BOM structures
