Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for a motivated, hands-on, passionate individual to develop new space hardware for communication satellites. In this position, you will own the complete lifecycle of space hardware from initial electrical/RF design concept to production & unit delivery.

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
$100,000-$135,000/year + Benefits!

Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical analyses (vibration, thermal, radiation) on new product designs to ensure survival to launch and on-orbit environments.
• Rapidly prototype & iterate on designs.
• Act as Manufacturing Engineering representative on Integrated Product Team for one or more projects.
• Evaluate tooling and fixturing needs for new products and repeat orders.
• Ensure needed items are in place in time to begin production.
• Create shop floor travelers for items on assigned projects.
• Prepare Manufacturing Readiness.
• Review package and present to internal team and customers.
• Review designs for manufacturability within the context of Integrated Product Team.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing difficulties, using lean manufacturing tools.
• Resolve quickly to resume production.
• Work strategic process improvement projects as background.
• Able to keep projects moving in the background along with time-critical tactical tasks.

Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 3+ years' experience with mechanical or electro-mechanical design, analysis or manufacturing
• Background in the aerospace, space or defense industry
• CAD and FEA software experience
• GD&T knowledge
