Position Overview
Build-to-Print Assemblies
We are seeking a detail oriented Mechanical Engineer with experience in build-to-print manufacturing, interface adapters, cables, connectors, and BOM development. This role focuses on translating complex technical drawing packages into accurate cost proposals and manufacturing documentation for highly specialized automated test assemblies and related products.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys technical problem solving, cross functional collaboration, and proposal development in a fast paced engineering environment. Minimal design work is involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical liaison between customers, engineering, assembly, procurement, and suppliers
- Develop and price Bills of Materials (BOMs) for Interface Test Assemblies/Adapters, cable assemblies, and other complex electromechanical products
- Interpret technical drawing packages including dimensional drawings, wiring diagrams, fabrication files, Gerber files, parts lists, and ASME Y14.100 documentation
- Create production level BOMs to support purchasing activities, supplier RFQs, and material procurement
- Support make versus buy decisions and supplier selection for machined and sheet metal components
- Translate BOMs into detailed cost proposals, including labor estimates and material costs
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal procurement teams to source cables, connectors, and other required materials
- Follow established build-to-print processes while ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely execution
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to support successful project delivery
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- 5–7 years of relevant engineering experience in manufacturing, build-to-print, or proposal development environments
- Experience with BOM creation, electromechanical assemblies, cables, and connectors required
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation
- U.S. Citizenship required
