Mechanical Engineer in Buffalo
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing detailed mechanical and structural designs for custom projects. This role focuses on delivering safe, cost-effective, and high-quality engineering solutions that meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and project schedules.
Success in this role is measured by
- Maintaining compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including OSHA requirements
- Designing systems and equipment that meet project specifications, budget constraints, and installation requirements while minimizing rework
- Producing accurate engineering drawings, documentation, and project deliverables within established timelines
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed mechanical and structural designs for project-based application
- Create process plant, skid-mounted unit assembly, and general arrangement drawings using Autodesk Inventor
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams throughout the design process
- Perform structural analysis and 3D modeling using Autodesk Inventor
- Maintain and update part libraries, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Develop assembly bills of materials (BOMs) and component specification
- Provide engineering support to purchasing and manufacturing teams during fabrication and assemble
- Prepare detailed field installation and assembly instruction
- Coordinate with shop personnel to ensure accurate implementation of engineering design
Required Competences:
- Ability to create detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for customer approval and manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's).
- Experience modeling process piping systems and structural steel assemblies using Autodesk software.
Knowledge of process equipment, including:
Pressure vessels
Pumps
Piping systems
Valves and fittings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field required.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering .
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and 3D modeling software.
- Strong experience with Autodesk Inventor, including:
- Frame Generator
- Tube & Pipe Modules
- Excellent computer, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
- At least 1 year of experience using Autodesk Inventor.
