Position: Mechanical Engineer / EIT
Location: Boston, MA

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Mechanical EIT with 3–5 years of experience to join their Boston-based engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience designing HVAC systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, or similar building projects and be looking to continue progressing toward their PE license.

Responsibilities:

• Design HVAC and mechanical systems for building projects.
• Perform heating/cooling load calculations and equipment sizing.
• Develop construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Design and coordinate ductwork, piping, and mechanical equipment.
• Utilize Revit and AutoCAD for design and documentation.
• Apply applicable building codes, ASHRAE standards, and industry guidelines.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, electrical, plumbing, and structural teams.
• Assist with equipment selection and system analysis.
• Participate in site visits, construction administration, submittal reviews, and RFIs.
• Support senior engineers and take increasing ownership of projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of mechanical/HVAC design experience.
• EIT certification required or strongly .
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of HVAC design principles, building codes, and ASHRAE standards.
• Experience with Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, IES VE, or similar software is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
• Interest in obtaining a Massachusetts PE license.
