Mechanical Engineer
Dept: 60 Engineering
Reporting to: Director of Engineering
FLSA Status: Exempt Salary Range: $85,000 -$95,000
Position Description: Research, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems, and directs and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems by performing the following duties
Job Duties:
· Design, develop and specify systems and components for our commercial and industrial foodservice products.
· Perform analysis, lab testing, inspection and prepare appropriate reports of findings and conclusions.
· Prepare layout drawings for customer approval and detailed fabrication drawings for manufacturing/procurement.
· Enter BOMs and routing for parts designed in SolidWorks into INFOR Syteline ERP system.
· Spend time in the plant working with shop personnel on improvements to the designs.
· Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations, including UL/CE, to ensure product designs are safe and conform to regulations and standards.
· Manager design project progress and adapt work as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar and a minimum of three to seven years in a manufacturing environment.
· Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and other machine controls .
· Successful candidates will be self-driven, organized, enthusiastic, detailed, skilled at machine design, and be able to prioritize assignments while focused on timely results.
Experience:
· Experience with complex machine design and electrical/wiring diagrams.
· Experience with SolidWorks part modeling. Sheet Metal design will be a plus. SolidWorks PDM experience will also be a plus, however not required.
· Experience with 2D CAD systems like AutoCAD or DraftSight.
· Experience with P&ID diagrams.
· Experience with complex BOM design and BOM management.
· Experience with UL/CE relationship and reporting.
· Experience with NSF and international sanitary requirements.
· Experience or knowledge of manufacturing processes in sheet metal forming or sheet metal shop equipment, welding and machining.
· Experience with LOTO and safety initiatives.
· Experience with INFOR Syteline ERP system .
· Experience in New Product Development, Project Management, and Quality Systems.
Job Expectations:
Ability to operate normal and customary equipment/technology used in a business environment, with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
