Looking to join a growing company where your engineering skills and cost-estimation expertise can make a real impact? This is a full-time, temporary-to-direct hire opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with specialized experience in metal fabrication. You’ll bridge the gap between engineering, production, and finance to support efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality product development.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design mechanical components and assemblies using sheet metal, structural steel, and machined parts
  
• Create detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings and models (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
  
• Develop accurate cost estimates for fabricated parts, including materials, labor, machining, and finishing
  
• Analyze engineering drawings to determine material and production requirements
  
• Collaborate with procurement and finance to validate pricing and vendor quotes
  
• Identify cost reduction opportunities through design and process improvements
  
• Support quoting processes with timely and accurate cost data
  
• Partner with production and supply chain to align designs with manufacturing capabilities
  
• Assist with prototyping, testing, and new product development within budget constraints
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design and metal fabrication
  
• 2+ years in cost estimation or product costing in manufacturing
  
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor)
  
• Knowledge of fabrication processes: welding, CNC machining, laser cutting, bending, assembly
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
