Our partner is a fast-scaling start-up developing next-, air-deployable water storage systems. Designed for sectors like emergency response and agriculture, their product is already gaining traction in global markets. With production scaling up, they’re hiring engineers to help build and refine core technology.
About the Role:
As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for taking projects from concept to reality. This means spotting problems, developing briefs, running calculations, creating CAD models, and sourcing manufacturers. The role requires someone who’s hands-on, creative, and can own complex mechanical challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Design and iterate core mechanical systems, equipment, and processes.
- Deliver full CAD models and technical documentation.
- Oversee prototype builds and liaise with suppliers and fabricators.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams on integration and manufacturing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-effective engineering.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 2+ years’ relevant experience in mechanical design and/or manufacturing.
- Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.) and ability to present a portfolio.
- Knowledge of actuator systems, materials, and dynamic design.
- Comfortable working hands-on with prototypes and manufacturing tools.
- Cardiff-based or willing to relocate (this is an on-site role).
