Mechanical Engineer
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOur client is currently looking to add experienced Mechanical Engineers with a well-rounded piping & equipment type background to support Oil & Gas projects in the local area. Strong candidates should have experience with Process Piping Systems, Process Equipment including Fixed and/or Rotating Equipment, and the tools used to design & analyze these systems. The ability to develop specifications for mechanical equipment is highly desired.
Qualifications:
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Fixed and / or rotating equipment, refinery operations, maintenance, or sustaining engineering experience required
- Equipment drawing review and approval
- Working knowledge of ASME codes and API standards for Pressure Vessels and Storage tanks.
- P&ID development and review
Process Piping experience including:
- ASME B31.3
- Piping layout
- Pipe specifications
- Pipe Supports
Experience with the design, specification, application, and modification of fixed equipment, such as:
- Pressure vessels
- Heat exchangers
- Tanks
Experience with developing specifications for rotating equipment, such as:
- Pumps
- Motors
- Compressors
- Turbines
Responsibilities:
- Develop Specifications for fixed and rotating process equipment.
- Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition to client.
- Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client.
- Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues.
- Provide technical guidance on an application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
- Maintain inspection databases, ensuring documentation is current, accurate, complete, and compliant.
