As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be an integral part of our client's mission to enhance naval capabilities through innovative mechanical systems. Your role will involve a comprehensive range of responsibilities to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of mechanical components and systems in naval applications. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years of experience and a proven track record of excellence in the field.  The location will be either St. Inigoes, MD or Little Creek, VA.

Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering Design and Analysis:

    • Conduct intricate engineering design and analysis for mechanical systems, ensuring alignment with stringent naval standards and regulations.
    • Utilize advanced modeling and simulation tools to optimize designs for performance and efficiency.
  2. System Integration:

    • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to seamlessly integrate mechanical systems into naval platforms, emphasizing interoperability and functionality.
    • Address challenges related to interface compatibility and system synchronization.
  3. Product Development:

    • Lead the end-to-end development of new mechanical products, from conceptualization and prototyping to testing and production.
    • Innovate and contribute to the evolution of naval technologies, staying abreast of industry trends.
  4. Technical Documentation:

    • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including detailed design specifications, test plans, and performance reports.
    • Ensure all documentation adheres to the highest standards of accuracy and completeness.
  5. Quality Assurance:

    • Implement robust quality assurance protocols to validate the reliability and performance of mechanical systems in naval applications.
    • Conduct thorough testing and analysis to identify and resolve potential issues.
  6. Project Management:

    • Manage and coordinate complex engineering projects, overseeing timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  7. Research and Development:

    • Engage in ongoing research and development activities to explore emerging technologies and methodologies applicable to naval mechanical systems.
    • Contribute insights to drive continuous improvement and advancements in naval engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within naval applications.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
  • In-depth knowledge of naval systems, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
