Gala & Associates, Inc., a full-service consulting Architectural and Engineering firm located in Beverly Hills, MI, is seeking a Senior-level Mechanical Engineer to work with our staff on our Automotive and Heavy Industrial facility projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in leading our Mechanical department and provide technical design support to the design team
• Prepare schematic designs, construction documents, and specifications in compliance with owners requirements and ensure governmental code compliance
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis, and construction cost estimates
• Perform construction related services including shop drawing reviews, response to requests for information, conduct field/site surveys and observations
• Collaborate and coordinate design with engineers, architects, designers, owners, product manufacturers, vendors, and building contractors as required
• Responsible for ensuring accuracy and content of construction documents and coordination with other disciplines

Experience Required:

• Project management
• Facility engineering - automotive/heavy industrial facilities
• HVAC systems:
  • building load energy calculations
  • steam and hydronic heating
  • chilled water cooling system
  • ducted air distribution systems
  • energy analysis & simulation
  • equipment selection and sizing
• Plumbing Systems:
  • domestic hot and cold water
  • sanitary waste and vent
  • acid wash and vent
  • stormwater systems
• Temperature Control Systems
• Energy Utilization
• Fire Protection

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master Degree preferred
• Minimum 7 years relevant work experience in building systems
• Licensed PE
• LEED-certified
• Knowledge of industry technical software - Revit a plus
• Strong leadership skills - ability to motivate and direct team
• Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and organize multiple projects
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
