Mechanical & Electrical Support Specialist – Gate & Access Systems

NOT a Computer/IT Position — Hands-On Electrical/Mechanical Support

About the Role

We are hiring a hands-on support technician to assist distributors, installers, and end users with gate operator and access control equipment.

This role involves mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, reading wiring diagrams, and guiding technicians through equipment issues by phone and in person.

This is NOT IT helpdesk or computer tech support.
If your experience is in low-voltage, alarms, telecom, gates/doors, electrical, or mechanics, this is for you.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electromechanical and low-voltage systems
• Provide phone & in-person support to dealers and installers
• Assist with equipment setup & wiring guidance
• Read wiring diagrams & technical manuals
• Identify replacement parts using our parts system
• Document service tickets and solutions
• Support walk-in Will-Call customers

What Experience Fits Well

✅ Low-voltage systems (12v/24v)
✅ Access control / gate / security system work
✅ Alarm/CCTV/door operator backgrounds
✅ Mechanical or electrical troubleshooting
✅ Ability to read wiring diagrams
✅ Field tech / service tech experience

Not a Fit If Your Background Is

❌ IT helpdesk or desktop support
❌ Network/server/cloud troubleshooting
❌ Software support only

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Hands-on mechanical and/or electrical experience
• Comfortable with wiring diagrams & hand tools
• Basic Windows knowledge (COM ports, TCP/IP converters)
• Strong communication skills
  Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
