Job Description
Keystone Experts & Engineers is seeking licensed (PE) Mechanical Engineers and/or Electrical Engineers with experience completing forensic investigations to determine the cause and of various site issues; the damage caused as a result; and a repair or replacement recommendation for the damage to HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler and electrical systems from weather-related damage, power surges, lightning strikes, fires, or explosions. Looking for people specifically in Colorado, Georgia and the Northeast states.

This is a fully remote, part-time, 1099 contract position available for all states across the nation.

Florida, North Carolina, Mississippi, Texas, Colorado, Ohio, Louisiana

The ideal candidate will have experience...
\n
- \n
- performing evaluations of electrical or mechanical systems for residential and/or commercial buildings.
- providing evaluations of reported damage as a result of fires, water intrusion, vehicle or tree impacts, lightning strikes, etc.
- providing a general scope of recommendations for repairs vs. replacement where needed.

What you will do:
\n
- \n
- Conduct investigations of reported damage to buildings to determine causes and contributing factors.
- Collect evidentiary items for future testing and preservation.
- Performance of leak and pressure testing
- Development of testing protocols and/or attendance of lab exams
- Performance of electrical testing (insulation testing, continuity testing, etc…)
- Access roofs, attics & crawl spaces to photo document areas of interest.
- Prepare & submit findings and, when required, recommendations for repairs or replacement.

What you will bring:
\n
- \n
- Active Professional Engineering license(s) required
- Degree in mechanical and/or electrical engineering or similar field
- Professional knowledge of building materials, codes, construction methods & common modes of failure
- Ability to access roof, attic and crawl space areas
- Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
- Availability to readily accept assignments and perform site inspection within 5-7 days
- Ability to use multiple software platforms, tools / equipment & investigative techniques
- Outstanding written & verbal communications skills
- An analytical mind and strong problem-solving ability
