We’re seeking an Application & Design Engineer to support leading semiconductor customers with advanced elastomer designs, sealing solutions, and materials analysis. The ideal candidate pairs strong mechanical fundamentals and CAD proficiency with a customer-centric mindset—comfortable engaging directly with fabs/OEMs, translating needs into designs, and driving adoption of ASNA-branded solutions.

Key Responsibilities

●       Design & CAD: Create and revise detailed models/drawings for elastomer seals and related components in SolidWorks/AutoCAD, adhering to standards, manufacturability, and cost considerations.
 

●       Materials & Analysis: Evaluate elastomer performance for semiconductor applications; develop clear analytical reports with data-driven recommendations.
 

●       Customer Engagement: Serve as a primary technical point of contact; lead trainings, demos, and technical reviews onsite and virtually; travel ~10–20% (domestic and international), often with Sales.
 

●       Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Production, and Quality to develop tailored solutions that meet performance and reliability targets.
 

●       Technical Documentation: Produce and maintain design specs, material data sheets, application notes, and user guides that enable customer success and support Sales.
 

●       Continuous Improvement: Monitor market/technology trends; propose product and process improvements that enhance customer outcomes and operational efficiency.
 

Minimum Qualifications

●       Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
 

●       Proficiency with mechanical CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and strong modeling/drafting fundamentals.
 

●       Solid understanding of materials/physical properties and commonly used materials testing methodologies.
 

●       Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain complex topics to non-technical stakeholders.
 

●       Data analysis skills with the ability to generate concise, insightful reports.
 

●       Demonstrated problem-solving; effective working independently and in collaborative teams.
 

Qualifications

●       3+ years in mechanical design and/or applications engineering in semiconductors and/or elastomer/polymer design/manufacturing.
 

●       1+ years in field support or applications/sales engineering with intensive customer engagement in fabs/OEM facilities.
 

●       Proficiency with finite element methods and analysis tools (e.g., Abaqus, SolidWorks Simulation); experience modeling polymer/elastomer behavior, fatigue/stress response, and thermal effects.
 

●       Deep knowledge of elastomer material science for semiconductor processes and applications.
 

●       Consultative communicator with executive presence; de-escalates issues, sets expectations, and translates customer goals into technical deliverables.
 

●       Multilingual ability (e.g., Mandarin) is a plus, not required.
