Mechanical Designer/Engineer
Stable and family oriented machine designing and building company has a need for an experienced Mechanical Designer/Engineer. The ideal candidate will have Ten (10) years of mechanical design experience and can immediately provide expertise with machine building, robotic end of arm tooling, and safety. This is a “roll up your sleeves” position. You’ll be working with experienced leaders to help you get it done. Exciting and fast paced environment where there’s always something new to learn.

Essential Responsibilities:
· Mechanical design of custom automation equipment, assembly stations, and robotic systems.
· Develop 3D CAD models, detail drawings, and BOMs (SolidWorks).
· Conduct time and reach studies during quoting and initial design phases.
· Design components such as fixtures, nests, end-of-arm tooling, guarding, and safety enclosures.
· Apply knowledge of materials, machining, and manufacturing processes to create robust designs.
· Collaborate with controls engineers, electricians, and project managers to during integration.
· Conduct tolerance stack-ups, stress analysis, and design reviews for manufacturability and reliability.
· Support build, testing, and commissioning phases, resolving design challenges as they arise.
· Interface with customers to understand requirements and present design concepts.
· Utilize and maintain CAD libraries and templates.
· Work within labor, material, and timeline budgets to ensure project success.
Essential Qualifications:
· Dependability and a strong work ethic is a must!
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or related field).
· 10+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in industrial automation, robotics, or machine design.
· Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks).
· In-depth knowledge of pneumatics, linear motion, bearings, and common industrial components.
· Understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and machine safety standards.
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to meet customer needs
· Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
· Nice to have:
o Experience designing for automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
o Familiarity with robot integration (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, etc.).
o Exposure to FEA or motion simulation software.
o Hands-on experience with machine assembly and commissioning.
