Job Description
Role- Mechanical Design Engineer\n Salary- £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)\nType- Permanent\nLocation- York\n\n My client works within consumer electronics manufacturing and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Designer, on a permanent basis, in the York area.\n\n Consumer Electronics – Design Engineering – SolidWorks – Jigs & Fixtures – Design for Manufacture – Mechanical Design – Research & Development\n\n The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:\n\nBSc / BEng qualified in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Design / Product Design Engineering or similar\n3 – 6 years’ or more of industry experience working in similar mechanical design engineer role working on design for manufacture\nScientific and Technology space industry knowledge\nExcellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – injection moulded plastics, metals etc.\nExcellent knowledge and proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software ideally\nBe self-motivated with excellent attention to detail\nHave excellent communication skills both verbal and written\nFull UK Driving LicenceThe Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:\n\nDesigning both new products and updating existing products – developing detailed mechanical designs\nDesigning production jigs & fixtures\nBeing involved in developing detailed mechanical designs using SolidWorks and the associated documentation\nLiaising with colleagues and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on-time and within budget\nCarrying out post-production design changes\nManaging a variety of projects\nAssisting colleague with any engineering or manufacturing issues that may ariseIf you are interested in the position please respond with an up to date CV and with your salary expectations to (url removed)
