Do you live in the Cambridge area or would love the opportunity to relocate and work in one of the UK's most exciting tech hubs?\n\nIf so, our client an innovative tech for good start-up is actively hiring for a position based in Cambridge to support operations across their UK and EU functions.\n\nThe Mechanical Design Engineer, based in Cambridge, UK, will be responsible for:\n\nDesigning and developing robotic components including precision mechanisms and enclosures\nCreating complex parts and assemblies using SolidWorks with a focus on plastic injection moulding, sheet metal, and CNC machining\nPerforming FEA and thermal analysis to validate mechanical designs\nCollaborating with electronics, software, and research teams in an Agile environment\nSupporting testing, debugging, and DFM for scalable production \n\nTo apply for this Mechanical Design Engineer role, you should have:\n\nA degree or master's in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline\nExperience of hands-on mechanical design experience\nStrong proficiency with SolidWorks, including generating manufacturing drawings\nProven experience designing injection-moulded plastic parts, sheet metal enclosures, and precision mechanical assemblies\nFamiliarity with FEA tools, prototyping, and mechanical testing\nA practical, hands-on approach and excellent problem-solving skills \n\nThis role offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
