Mechanical Engineer
Summary/Objective
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support engineering efforts by managing product design information and documentation. This role involves designing and developing new and existing products, validating equipment and materials, and collecting data related to applications and field use. The position includes prototyping new products in collaboration with Sales and Engineering teams to meet customer requirements. Additional responsibilities include process improvement, corrective actions, and technical support.
Essential Functions
- Design and prototype new products.
- Develop product and production designs.
- Maintain document and design control.
- Assist with equipment calibration, validation, and testing.
- Create and maintain part numbers, descriptions, and process Engineering Change Notices.
- Conduct research and development for product applications and field use.
- Support quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to ensure compliance with specifications and processes.
- Assist in resolving failures and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
- Work in a team environment to diagnose issues, develop fixtures, test products, and create processes.
- Support Quality Assurance with inspections, testing, and data collection.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including production processes and layouts.
- Analyze data, prepare procedures, train personnel, and document training.
- Verify and implement equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Education and Experience
- BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline (Materials ).
- 2+ years in a technical or quality role, ideally in manufacturing or production.
- Experience creating procedures and processes.
- Skilled in developing manufacturing fixtures.
- Background in manufacturing and design.
Skills and Competencies
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, flowcharting, and design software.
- Advanced math skills.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and design principles.
- Ability to write technical documentation.
