Job Description
ROLE- Mechanical Design Engineer\n\nTERM- Permanent\n\nLOCATION - Southampton\n\nSALARY- £40,000 - £50,000, dependent on experience \n\nMy client provides bespoke products and engineering solutions for Manufacture. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Southampton on a permanent basis.\n\nThe Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:\n\nDegree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar\nAt least 3 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position\nStrong experience designing mechanical components and systems\nPrevious experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment\nBe proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.\nKnowledge of a variety of materials – sheet metal, machined parts etc.\nGood theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances\nExcellent communication skills both verbal and written\nProficient using MS Office\nExcellent organisational skills and time management skills\nHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team \n\n The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:\n\nUsing CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings\nLiaising with manufacturing providers\nBeing involved in final assembly of products\nCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans\nUpdating 3D models and drawings\nInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs\nChecking drawings for sign off\nWorking in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects \n\n If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible
